John Marshall Blust (born June 4, 1954) is a Republican member of the North Carolina General Assembly, representing a sixty-two-member state district, including a constituency in the Guilford area. A lawyer from Greensboro, North Carolina, Blust has previously served both in the state and Senate. He is a lawyer and former US Army captain.
Blust was defeated for re-election to Sen. N.C. by Kay Hagan, who will go on to be elected to the United States Senate.
In March 2016, John formally announced his candidacy for the United States House of Representatives for District 13 recently in North Carolina. He was defeated in the Primary Republic by Ted Budd.
