Jason Michael Lee (born April 25, 1970) is an American actor, photographer, producer, and skateboarder. She is best known for her role as Earl Hickey in the television comedy series My Name Is Earl, David Seville in Direct Action/CGI Alvin and the Chipmunks, and Syndrome voice at The Incredibles. She is also known for her roles in Kevin Smith movies such as Mallrats , Pursuing Amy , Dogma , Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back >, Jersey Girl , Employee II , and Cop Out . As a former professional skateboarder, Lee is co-founder and co-owner of Stereo Skateboards, a company that distributes skateboard decks.

Careers

Skateboarding

Before he became an actor, Lee was known as a professional skateboarder in the late 1980s and early 1990s. In 1992, he founded the Stereo Sound Agency, known as Stereo Skateboards, alongside fellow Chris "Dune" Pastras skater. In 2003, after the company had been dead for several years, the couple managed to revive the company. In October 2013, Lee and Pastras remain on the list of professional "Classic" teams.

Lee featured in a skateboard promotional video, Video Days , was filmed for the skateboard company "Blind Skateboards". In 2004, Lee's skateboard was featured on Way Out East! , a film produced by Stereo Skateboards.

In August 2012, Lee was also featured in a short video on The Berrics' skateboard website entitled "Jason Lee decided to come to the park."

In August 2012, Lee participated in the 9th Annual Stand-Up for the Skateparks Event, which is co-chaired by Tony Hawk. The event is held annually by the Tony Hawk Charitable Foundation and seeks to "help create free, quality public skateparks for young people in low-income communities."

In October of the same year, a video was released by Keep A Breast Foundation, which featured a variety of skateboard identities, including Lee, along with Pastras. The video, which contributes to the Foundation's goal to prevent and raise awareness of breast cancer, promotes the "I Love Boobies" bracelet. It also features Clint Peterson (Stereo) and Giovanni Reda (WESC), who are both Lee's teammates.

Lee then worked with Tony Hawk when he lent his voice and look to Tony Hawk's Project 8 to be a playable character. Lee then voiced Coach Frank, a character created during Stereo's development, at Skate 3 .

The professional skateboarder and skateboarder owner of Girl and Lakai Limited Footwear Mike Carroll has referred to Lee as one of his skating influences.

Acting

After taking a few minor acting roles in 1992-1994 (including a music video for Sonic Youth single "100%", a small section on Mi Vida Loca , and a small section as a dance instructor at Chance and Things ), Lee left a professional skateboarder for a full-time acting career. The main role of his first film was at Kevin Smith Mallrats, which became a cult hit. It started a friendship that later led to appearances in many Smith movies, including Pursuit of Amy , Dogma , Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back , Clerks II , and Cop Out . Lee won an Independent Spirit Award for her role in Pursuing Amy as Banky Edwards.

Lee graduated to lead the role of men in Heartbreakers, Steal Harvard and A Guy Thing. She already has supporting roles at Vanilla Sky , Nearly Famous , Dreamcatcher , Big Trouble , The Ballad Jack and Rose, and Mumford , as well as a small role in Enemy of the State. Lee also voiced Syndrome on The Incredibles and Jack-Jack Attack . He changed the role of a "robot copy" from Syndrome at Disney's Present Pixar's Incredibles in Magic Kingdom Adventure. Lee is also the voice of Underdog at Underdog and describes Dave Seville in a live action/CGI film starring Alvin and the Chipmunks.

In 2005, Lee was offered a lead role in My Name Is Earl . According to the interview on the first season DVD, he passed the series twice before finally agreeing to read for the pilot. In the series, he acts as Earl Hickey. Lee received two Golden Globe nominations for Best Performance by an Actor in a TV or Musical Series in 2006 and 2007, as well as a nomination for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Superb Appearance by Male Actor in a Comedy Series in 2006. Lee started taking pictures regularly in the early 2000s, and became interested in instant photography. He recently released a photo book through Refueled Magazine. Personal life

Lee married actress and photographer Carmen Llywelyn in 1995; they divorced in 2001. Llywelyn then cited Lee's commitment to Scientology as the main cause of their separation. Llywelyn writes that their relationship collapsed when she revealed to her talent manager and Scientologist Gay Ribisi (mother of actor Giovanni Ribisi), that she had read A Piece of Blue Sky, an anti-Scientology book. Two days after his conversation with Ribisi, Llywelyn received a paragraph of "termination letter" from Lee and was labeled an Oppressor.

After his divorce from Llywelyn, Lee was engaged to actress Beth Riesgraf. Together, they have a son, a Pilot Inspector. Lee declares their son's name inspired by "He's Simple, He's Stupid, He's a Pilot" by the rock band Grandaddy.

Lee met fashion model and actress Ceren AlkaÃÆ'§ at a concert while on holiday in England. AlkaÃÆ'§ was born in? Zmir, and emigrated with his family from Turkey to Australia shortly thereafter. After their initial meeting, the couple remained in touch via email and text, with AlkaÃÆ'§ then moving to the United States and starting a relationship with Lee.
