Charles Bradford "Brad" Henry (born July 10, 1963) is an American lawyer and politician who is Oklahoma's 26th Governor. A member of the Democratic Party, he was elected governor in 2002. Henry won re-election for a second term on 7 November 2006 with 66% of the vote.
Henry was the third governor and second Democrat in the history of Oklahoma to hold two consecutive terms, along with Democrat George Nigh and Republican Frank Keating. In 2010, Henry was not eligible to run for re-election despite he maintaining a high level of approval, due to the time limit set by the Oklahoma Constitution. His second term ends on January 10, 2011, and he was replaced by governor by Republican Mary Fallin.
Henry was touted as a candidate for US Senatorial candidate, but refused to take part in a 2014 election to replace Tom Coburn.

Early life and education
Charles Henry was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma, son of Charles Henry, a leading judge and former state representative. After graduating from Shawnee High School in 1981, Henry attended the University of Oklahoma as President of the Leadership Scholar and obtained a bachelor's degree in economics in 1985. He is a member of the Delta Delta Delta Fraternity. In 1988, he was awarded a law degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, where he served as managing editor of Law Review.
Henry practiced law in Shawnee, Oklahoma before running for the Oklahoma State Senate. He served as state senator from 1992 until he became governor.

At the 2002 gubernatorial election, Henry defeated State Sen. Enoch Kelly Haney and businessman Vince Orza in the main vote. In elections, he defeated former Republican Congressman Steve Largent, an NFL Hall of Fame, with more than half a percent of the vote, in a race that also included Independent candidate Gary Richardson, a retired federal prosecutor. Henry received 448,143 votes (43.27%) to Largent's 441,277 votes (42.61%). Richardson, a former Republican candidate, received 146,200 votes (14%).
Henry runs a "barnstorming" campaign of the countryside, and stops at Wal-Mart stores in RV with supporters. Henry is supported by soccer coach Barry Switzer, who has wide popularity in Rapid State and accompanied Henry to many campaign events.
On the policy side of the campaign, Henry calls himself "governor of education". He argues to increase teacher salaries and funding for higher education in the state by approving the state sweepstakes to raise money.
2006 campaign
In the Democratic primary election on July 25, 2006, Henry received 218,712 votes, 86% of the vote.
In the November 7 general election, Henry confronted Republican President of the 5th Congress of Ernest Istook and won with 66% of the vote. He won by a higher total than any governor candidate in nearly fifty years. Legacy
Henry is widely expected to be appointed President of the University of Central Oklahoma.
