Diana L. Mercer (born March 10, 1964) is a pioneer in divorce mediation and the founder of the Peace Negotiation Service in Los Angeles, California. Mercer is also one of the authors of Your Divorce Advisor: A Lawyer and Psychologist Guiding You Through the Legal and Emotional Landscape of Divorce . (Fireside, 2001).

Careers

Mercer earned his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor from Indiana University respectively in 1985 and 1988. In 1993 he became founding partner at Noyes & amp; Mercer, P.C., a company specializing in litigation and mediation of family law matters. Mercer leaves Noyes & amp; Mercer, P.C. in 2000 and established the Peace Negotiation, Mediation Services, Inc., a mediation firm dedicated to providing a constructive and forward-thinking alternative to litigation in family law conflicts. Peace Talks are one of the first companies to form a team of neutral lawyers and therapists to mediate together during the mediation sessions, dynamically integrating two important aspects of the mediation process.

From 2001 to 2003, Diana Mercer served as a professor in the Department of Psychology at La Verne University. He teaches graduate level courses in Mediation, Conflict Resolution, and Family Law.

In June 2001, he began serving as a co-trainer at Mosten's Mediation Training. In this position, Mercer continues to teach mediation theories and techniques in an interactive training environment.

In 2006, he graduated from the Management Development Program for Entrepreneurs (MDE) at UCLA Anderson School of Management

Mercer admitted to law practice in California, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and before the United States Supreme Court.

He practiced family law for many years in New Haven, Connecticut. He is still regarded by colleagues as a very sharp and very ethical Bar member.

He filmed a mediation pilot for Pilgrim Films and Television that had been sold to a large cable network.

Mercer teamed up with Kelly Chang Rickert as a lawyer/mediator and contestant on the reality show of NBC 2005 The Law Firm.
