John Killeen Handy is a politician in Queensland, Australia. He is a Member of the Queensland Legislative Council.
He represented Mitchell's voters from June 1870 to September 1871. Then the North Brisbane electoral district from Jan 1872 to Nov 1873.

Born in Ireland in 1834, he later studied at the Meath National school before making tonsure and a small order in Paris in 1855. After being ordained a Roman Catholic priest on March 28, 1875, Handy went to San Francisco, California. He became pastor of Placerville on July 25, 1859. He later became pastor of Yreka, Crescent City. On January 19, 1861, Handy became an assistant pastor at St. Mary's Cathedral, San Francisco. After this time his health began to fail so that on 5 November 1861 he left San Francisco for Sydney in Nimrod. On February 1, 1862, Handy was assigned to the Diocese of Sydney. He was then appointed priest of Patrick Plains, Tamworth. In January 1863, he left the church after a dispute and was later excommunicated.

Careers in law and politics
Usefully qualifies as an attorney through the University of Melbourne from 1863 to 1865. He arrived in Queensland in 1865 and was appointed as the Crown Attorney. He also does not work in private practice. Handy was a member of the Queensland Legislative Council until shortly before his death on January 24, 1874, at the age of 40.

John Killeen Handy married Isabella Agnes Carse Kendall on February 12, 1863 in Sydney.
