Wayne Alphonso Brady (born June 2, 1972) is an American actor, singer and comedian who is a regular version of the improvised comedy television series Who Is It Anyway? The Wayne Brady Show , the original host of Fox's Do not Forget the Lyrics! , and has organized Let's Make the Agreement since its resurrection in 2009. Brady also appeared on the award-winning Tony Kinky Boots on Broadway as Simon and as Lola's drag queen from November 2015 to March 2016.

Brady was born in Columbus, Georgia, to Western Indian parents, and moved to Orlando, Florida, as a child to live with his grandmother and aunt. Brady refers to his grandmother, Valerie Petersen, as her "mother", as she raises her. Brady is the second cousin to professional footballer Jozy Altidore who currently plays for Toronto FC.
At 16, Brady began performing at community theater and in Orlando improvised SAK Comedy Lab, where he first began to develop his improvisation skills. He studied at Dr Phillips High School in Orlando, where he graduated in 1989. In 1990, he enrolled at the University of Miami. In 1996, he moved to Los Angeles, where he continued to develop his acting skills.

Brady is one of the improvised theater performers in the original (English) version of Who's Line It Anyway? , along with Ryan Stiles, Colin Mochrie, and host Clive Anderson in 1998 when last season was filmed in Hollywood, after which he became a regular on the American version, hosted by Drew Carey, which is a television exposure in the United States.
In 2003, Brady won the Emmy Primetime Award for Exceptional Individual Performance in Variety or Music Programs for his work on the show, the only person who won the award for the television series, compared to the special, since Dana Carvey in 1993.
He went on to star in his own ABC variety show in 2001, The Wayne Brady Show, and a daytime talk show of the same name in 2002, which lasted for two seasons and won four Daytime Emmy Awards, two from who went to Brady for the Talking Outstanding Talk Show. Brady became a guest on The Drew Carey Show in 1999 and 2000 to take part in "Drew Live" and "Drew Live II". On the show, Brady played some games taken from Whose Line Is It Anyway? for two episodes with other characters.
In 2004, Brady joined the Broadway rise of Chicago, playing the role of Billy Flynn's lawyer. He appeared briefly in the last episode of the 2004 comedy season Reno 911! . He is a guest star in Sci Fi Channel's hit series Stargate SG-1 as Trelak, the first of Goa'uld Lord Ares System. She made an appearance at Chappelle's Show , mocking her squeaky person.
Brady writes and sings the theme song for the Disney animated series The Weekenders . In 2005, she sang and recorded Jim Brickman's original song "Beautiful" (cover All-4-One 2002 hit "Beautiful As You") and a Christmas version.
In 2006, Brady hosted the Land TV show That's What I'm Speaking About, a talk show that discusses the role of African-Americans in the entertainment industry. From 29 August to 29 September 2006, Brady hosted the Fox Celebrity Duets event.
Brady made several guest appearances on the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother , playing James Stinson, gay brother of Neil Patrick Harris character Barney Stinson. Brady also appeared as guest star for MTV's Wild 'N Out , and lent his voice to the Robot Chicken Adult Swim show .
Brady guest starred in the CBC comedy, Along with Famous , beside him Who's Line It Anyway? costar Colin Mochrie. She also appeared on the episode "You Do not Know Jack" on the Dirt , as well as guest star on <30> Rock as Steven Black, dating Liz Lemon for the Source Award. She hosted VH1 short-lived Vinyl Justice in 1998. In 2007, she starred in the ABC Family film List . She starred in Flirt , a comedy pilot not picked up by the network.
Brady became guest star as the talented little brother of Julius Rock, Louis, at sitcom Everybody Hates Chris , and hosted a singing game titled Do not Forget the Lyrics! on Fox until his cancellation in June 2009. He did "Wayne Brady: Earn $%! ^ Up" at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada four nights a week.
She appeared in two episodes of Kevin Hill . Brady's debut album was released on September 16, 2008. Brady's version of Sam Cooke's "A Change is Gonna Come" earned him a Grammy Award nomination in the Best Traditional R & amp; B Vocal Performance.
Brady started hosting the latest version of the game Let's Make a Deal for CBS in October 2009, which was recorded at Tropicana Resort and Casino in Las Vegas and is currently a tape in Los Angeles. The show replaces the soap opera Guiding Light , which terminates its term. The original host of Let's Make a Deal is Monty Hall, who served as a consultant for a new event until his death in 2017. Drew Carey currently hosts The Price Is Right and thus, both game events in CBS's daytime lineup (as per September 2017) hold the distinction guided by an alumni Who Is It Line?
Brady was the guest host on May 3, 2010, the episode of WWE Raw, where he was involved in a ring segment with Edge and Randy Orton, finally getting RKO'd by Orton. Later that year, in August, Brady played the role of Tom Collins in the gradual production of Rental at the Hollywood Bowl. The production was directed by Neil Patrick Harris.
Brady appeared together with Jonathan Mangum in two episodes of Fast and Loose , a new improvisation series on BBC2 hosted by Hugh Dennis, in January 2011. Then, with Holly Robinson Peete, he hosted the 42nd Annual NAACP Image Award on March 4, 2011.
On May 3, 2011, he appeared on Dancing With The Stars as a major player in honor of James Brown, celebrating the 78th anniversary of Brown in the Macy Dance Star segment. He has also been a special guest of Drew Carey Improv-A-Ganza at GSN.
Brady made a cameo in the 2011 song "Dedication To My Ex (Miss That)" by Lloyd featuring Lil Wayne and Andre 3000, telling the Lil Wayne part of the song. She appeared as a special guest star on March 14, 2012, episode of the TV series Psych .
Brady starred in the ABC 2012 improvisation comedy series Believe Us with Your Life, , and come back for the Resurrection Who's Line Anyway? in summer 2013.
Brady became guest star as Don in the episode Phineas and Ferb , "Where's Pinky?" on June 7, 2013, and for one week from 9 to 13 February 2015, the guest host at The Late Late Show on CBS.
In November 2015, Brady replaced Billy Porter as Lola at Kinky Boots on Broadway.
Brady assumes the leading role of Aaron Burr in the production of PrivateBank Theater in Hamilton from Chicago 17 January to 9 April 2017.
On April 29, 2018, Brady won a Daytime Emmy Award for an Extraordinary Game Show Host to Let's Make a Deal.
Personal life
Brady has been married twice. He married Diana Lasso on December 31, 1993. They divorced on September 21, 1995. On April 3, 1999, he married Mandie Taketa dancer. She and Taketa have a child, a daughter named Maile Masako Brady, born on February 3, 2003. Brady and Taketa split up on April 5, 2006, and Taketa filed for divorce on July 2, 2007.
In 2007, Brady became an official supporter of Ronald McDonald House Charities and was a member of their celebrity board, Friends of RMHC.
In 2013, Bill Maher compares Brady with President Barack Obama, because both are equally "not black enough". Brady takes issue with this statement, pointing out that Maher should be "careful when you make such a statement because it will allow viewers to make the same stereotypical assumptions about blacks."
As a child, Wayne struggled with a stutter because of the many anxieties he felt about being bullied by other children.
Wayne had clinical depression and he suffered a mental breakdown on his 42nd birthday. He praises Taketa for helping him recover.
