Music career
1970s
In addition to his two eldest (deaf) brothers, Marie is the only family member not involved in the music business. After the early success of The Osmonds in 1970, brother Marie Donny achieved success as a solo artist on the Pop Music charts and became a teen idol. Osmond's management convinced Marie to give it a try and she signed with the family record label, MGM/Kolob Records and started making concert appearances with The Osmonds. His style is more directed to country music, in contrast to his brothers, who were doing hard rock music at the time.
In 1973, Marie released her first single as a solo artist entitled "Paper Roses". The recording, a cover version of the song originally popularized by Anita Bryant, became a No. hit. 1 country, reached the Top 5 on Billboard magazine's pop chart, and achieved crossover success. This song won a gold record just like an album of the same name. He released another single, "In My Little Corner of the World", and an album with the same title in 1974, both of which entered the Billboard Top 40 country in 1974. The title track on the next album, "Who's Sorry Now" (the cover of Isham Jones's 1920s pop composition for Connie Francis in the 1950s), released in 1975, became No.40.
In 1977, Marie released her fourth studio album titled This Is The Way That I Feel and was much different from previous country music where she covered several hit country artists. With the departure of the country sounded he went more towards the pop style. The album has songs written for her as well as songs written by Bee Gees. The album only had two singles and, like most Osmond recordings in the late 1970s, was a commercial failure.
Additionally in 1974, Marie had two pop music duet hits with Donny's brother: "I Led All It's Right" and "Morning Side of the Mountain". The previous song was a Top 20 country hit, with both songs reaching the Top 10 on the pop charts.
1980s
In 1984, Marie had one on RCA Records called "Who's Counting" and just went to No. 1. 82 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles. The single received a large number of plays for several weeks.
Marie made a comeback in country music as a solo artist by signing a joint deal with Capitol Records and Curb Records (uniting her with Mike Curb, who was a major factor in family success in the early 1970s) in Nashville. In 1985, Marie recorded her first studio album in nearly seven years titled There No Stopping Your Heart. The album has four singles with two reaching the number 1 spot on the country charts. The main songs focus on the more popular Countrypolitan style. She and Dan Seals sang a duet called Meet Me in Montana which became No. hit. 1 country that year. The follow-up single is the title song entitled "There No Stopping Your Heart", which also reached No. 1 in early 1986. The last single "Read My Lips" also became a top 10 hit.
The follow-up album in 1986 titled "I Only Wanted You". He hit No. 1 again with a duet with Paul Davis with the song "You're Still New to Me". The second single is the title song "I Only Wanted You" which landed on the top 10. Two additional singles "Everybody's Crazy 'Bout My Baby" and "Cry Just a Little" do not have the same success.
In 1988, he released the album All in Love and Steppin 'Stone in 1989. Both albums failed to achieve success on the billboard charts due to changes in country music style; neotraditionalism came to the forefront at the expense of state pop acts such as Osmond, and in 1991, further changes in the country music industry would effectively put an end to his career as a significant recording artist. Steppin 'Stone will be the country's last album in the 1980s.
1990s
She released only one song mapped in 1995 titled "What Kind of Man Is (Walking In Women)".
2000s
In November 2010, he released an album titled I Can Do This full of ballads and highlighted his multi-octave voice in the song "Pie Jesu". It contains fourteen tracks and all proceeds donated to the Children's Wonder Networks Hospital.
