Clinton-Lewinsky scandal
Goldberg's career as a scholar was launched following the role of his mother Lucianne Goldberg in the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal, when she wrote about the "media siege" in her mother's apartment at The New Yorker.
Goldberg has talked about his mother and Lewinsky scandal:
My mother was the one who suggested Linda Tripp to record her conversation with Monica Lewinsky and to save the dress. I know some of these things, and when the administration started destroying Lewinsky, Tripp, and my mother, I defended my mother and with Tripp extension... I have no desire to have that argument again. I did a bit in Clinton's trench pants.
This tape became the focal point of the Lewinsky scandal. Goldberg knows his mother's recording and conversation with Tripp because he serves as vice president of his now-defunct mother's literary agency.

Frequent topics
Some of the topics that often arise from his articles include censorship, meritocracy, freedom, federalism and the interpretation of the Constitution, his attacks on the ethics and morals of liberals and Democrats, and his disagreement with libertarians also often appears in his writings. He is a supporter of the Iraq War and has advocated American military intervention elsewhere in the world. He defended historical colonialism in places like Africa as more profitable than generally given credit for; in one column, he suggested that US imperialism on the continent could help solve a persistent problem. When he wrote in October 2006 that attacking Iraq was a mistake, he called it a "noble" mistake and still maintains that the liberal opponents of war policy want America to fail: "In other words, their objections are not war per se; which advance the interests of the United States.... I must admit, one of the things that makes me reluctant to conclude that the Iraq war is a mistake is my displeasure over the cruelty of anti-war arguments. "
He popularized and expanded on comments by the late Time author William Henry III. Henry has written on the subject of multiculturalism and cultural equality, stating that "there is hardly a thing to put a person on the moon to put a bone in your nose." Goldberg states that "[m] ultikulturalisme - which is only egalitarianism wrapped in rainbow-colored paper - has enhanced the idea that all ideas are equal, all systems are equal, all cultures are of equal value."
He criticized the idea of ââ"social justice" as meaning "whatever the fighters want" or "good things" that are not to be debated and no one dares to resist. "
Relationships with authors and other public figures
Goldberg has been openly hostile to the people on the left of politics, such as Juan Cole, for US Iraq policy, and Air America Radio commentators such as Janeane Garofalo, who accused him of being a chickenhawk in the Iraq War. On February 8, 2005, Goldberg offered Cole a $ 1,000 bet "that Iraq would not have a civil war, that it would have a proper constitution, and that the majority of Iraqis and Americans would, within two years, agree that the war was worth it. "Cole refuses to accept and the stakes are never made. Goldberg then admits that if Cole has earned a bet, Cole will win.
Goldberg and Peter Beinart from The New Republic for a time hosting a conservative vs. liberal show, What's Your Problem? , which was originally found at Online National Overview but has appeared on Bloggingheads.tv in 2013. Goldberg and Beinart continue to argue with each other, recently at an event sponsored by the Foundation Young America at the University of Virginia in 2012.
Goldberg and others at National Review Online (including editor Rich Lowry) broke with conservative author Ann Coulter for a statement he made about the September 11, 2001 attacks they deem irresponsible. Coulter stopped writing for National Review Online after publishing his column on September 13, 2001, arguing that "We must invade their country, kill their leader and turn them into Christianity."
In his book Crippled America, the then Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump criticized Goldberg, referring to him as "utterly disgusting," and sarcastically calling him "brilliant" for misrepresenting that Trump might retreat from the race. rather than financial disclosure of files.
Media
Regarding Fox News, Goldberg said, "Look, I think the liberals have a fair complaint with Fox News.It does not lean to the right, especially in the programming of his opinion but also in the selection of his story (which is fine by me) and elsewhere. But it's worth remembering that Fox is less a bulwark of ideological conservatism and more populist, tabloidy network. "
Goldberg has criticized the liberals for not liking Fox News, claiming that they have "no problem with the editorialization of Keith Olbermann of MSNBC or Chris Matthews, they think it's just wrong for the conservatives to play the game." Goldberg referred to Olbermann as "MSNBC's answer to a question no one asked."
Lighter humors and topics
The "Goldberg File" often involves humor, often at the expense of liberals. Alec Baldwin, who was strangled by Goldberg could not read, had been a common target of such jibes. Goldberg also makes occasional satire for Star Trek . Then, Battlestar Galactica becomes a favorite topic. Goldberg also likes to link online game "timewaster" in his post on "The Corner".
